I have been listening to a crazy amount of The Cure lately…Disintegration in particular. One thing that blows my mind is how long the intros to these songs can be. So i set out to figure out just how much of the album the intros comprise. I considered the intro the amount of time that led up to the first word Robert Smith sang. The total amount of time spent on intros….19 minutes and 25 seconds. The album as a whole clocks in around 71 minutes and 47 seconds… by my calculations, that makes roughly 27% of the album the intros….pretty amazing.
